The Square - a hand-drawn world every member shares. A village with Jane's porch, the campfire and the stage, and around it a place for every Jane app, a river, a lake with a harbour and a windmill in the fields. Further south, a farm and an orchard, old ruins and a storyteller's cave, and the coast, with a lighthouse, a boardwalk and a Ferris wheel. East of it all lies the Northern Reach - birch and heather, snowfields and a glacier, a frozen fjord, and islands you reach by ferry.
How it works
- Walk with the arrow keys (Shift to run), or click where you want to go - on the map or on the little map in the corner - and you'll find the way there.
- People near you are clear; people far away fade out, and so do their words.
- Jane sits on her porch. Say something nearby and she answers, in public.
- Turn on Voice to talk out loud with whoever is near you, or Listen to hear them (and the stage) without a microphone. Voices fade with distance too. Turn on Camera and your token becomes a little video bubble for the people near you.
- Mute anyone just for yourself, or block and report them - blocked people can't see or hear you on the map, and Jane's team reviews every report.
- The big screen opens Watch Party. The radio corner and the campfire have sound.
- Step onto the stage and everyone on the map hears you. Say something at the noticeboard and it stays pinned there for a week.
- Your organization gets its own map too, with the same places, just for its members.
- Everything said is also listed in the chat beside the map, and lingers on the map for a day.
