To ensure success, you should have extensive experience with full-cycle accounting, financial analysis, and process improvement. This role involves maintaining high quality and standards across all financial operations to support Codal's continued growth.Please note: this role is only open to candidates in Chicago and the Chicagoland area.  Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. General Ledger Management: Own the full-cycle accounting process, including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations. Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead close processes, performing variance analysis, and resolving discrepancies to deliver clean, reliable financials. Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with leadership to develop budgets, financial plans, and ad hoc reports to support data-driven decision-making. Process Improvement: Develop and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to drive operational efficiency and scalability. Collaboration and Vendor Management: Collaborate globally with our outside financial team. Ideal Candidate Skills Experience: 3+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience with increasing responsibility Industry Experience: Prior experience working in an agency or professional services environment  Technical Knowledge: Strong command of GAAP and accounting best practices; experience with project-based accounting or revenue recognition Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, ERP platforms Sage, Brex, and Bill.com; advanced Excel skills. Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to identify financial trends, resolve discrepancies, and translate data into actionable insights. Standards: Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity across all deliverables.
