Job Description:AccountantRubicon is seeking an Accountant supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Geismar. This position will report to the Sr. Accountant/Accounting Manager.Job ScopeWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience to join our finance team in a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment. This role supports core accounting functions including financial reporting, cost accounting, and indirect cost analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and a proactive approach to identifying cost drivers and improving financial efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate tracking of indirect costs, support budgeting efforts, and contribute to the integrity of our financial operations.In summary, as the Accountant, you will: Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accountsPerform monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedulesSupport the month-end close processAssist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies by preparing documentation and responding to auditor queriesMaintain and improve internal controls and accounting processesCollaborate with other departments to ensure accurate cost tracking and reportingPrepare and provide analyses of cost variancesAssist in the preparation of management reportsAnalyze financial data and provide insights to managementIdentify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting functionParticipate in budgeting and forecasting activitiesSupport inventory accounting and cost analysis related to chemical productionAssist with special projects and ad hoc analysis as requiredQualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
