Our mission is to energize communities to help drive growth and prosperity by sustainably serving our customers’ needs in high potential countries around the world.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:A) General Accounting:Check and analyse financial information and prepare more complex financial reports and accounting statements so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions.Review of GL reconciliations done by the junior accountantsEnsuring financial integrity of the following: General Ledger, Sales Records, Purchases Records, Inventory, Annual AuditBalance Sheet Review file review and ownershipHighlights any risks sitting in the balance sheet to the finance managerProvides guidance on general accounting according to group policyManaging the account payable team and ensure payments are processedProvide inputs on the weekly/monthly cash flow forecast in conjunction with treasuryEnforce internal controls. This entails ensuring adherence to Puma financial Procedures as advised in the Puma group Control PolicyPreparation of financials with Group AuditorsB)Audit ReviewCoordinate, monitor, and execute independent audits, provide all necessary information for compliance on deadlines. Work closely with independent auditors during and preparing schedules for the annual audit. Revise the computation of employment termination payments.Preparation of the Annual Financial Report including financial statements, notes, supporting schedules, transmittal letter and statistical information.Ensure company act compliance per jurisdiction in conjunction with the country finance leadC) Ad-hocTrain, test and ensure the integrity of the financial system (controls and technology). Train, test and maintain the financial software system and ensure its integrity.New system implementation and UATFind ways to manage the system testing.D)ExperienceQualified Chartered accountant with 2-5 yrs strong accounting experiencePeople management skillsUnderstanding of IFRS standardsBusiness minded orientated is a plusDemonstrable numeracy skillsGood verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex informationMicrosoft Office proficientCan work independentlyTax knowledge (direct and indirect)E)Key RelationshipsAccountants / Accounts receivable / Accounts Payable / Cash AccountantInternal – Regional FM, Regional tax team, Country finance leadsExternal –, Auditors and tax/legal advisers.
