Consistently ranked as Canada’s most reputable financial technology brand, Interac is deeply embedded in the daily lives of Canadians.Who You Will Work With:The vacant Accounting and Financial Systems, Lead role will report to the Leader, Accounting.What You Will Do: Lead and maintain the financial systems of the organization including JDE (the enterprise accounting system), ReportsNow, and Concur expense managementBe responsible for system upgrades, financial systems IT audit support and implementing any new automation toolsBe responsible for Financial Reporting which includes creating and maintaining reports required for external reporting including government reporting (StatsCan), financials for government applications (e.g. SRED and Grants), audit schedules and quarterly financialsAssist with monthly financial accounting, including preparation of accrual entries and validation of financial informationBe heavily involved with all projects that touch the enterprise accounting softwareParticipate in special projects and ad hoc assignments as requiredNote: this role has some accounting responsibilities and will take part in some ad hoc projects beyond the enterprise accounting systemWhat You Bring: Troubleshoot issues with any of the financial systemsEvaluate new system to enhance efficienciesEvaluate when implementation of new systems should take placeDocument changes and steps when rolling out new features or automation toolsWorking knowledge of Canadian GAAP (in particular, ASPE and IFRS)Strong interpersonal skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and WordKnowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint is a plusA business degree with major in accounting, finance and/or CPA (or working towards)Financial systems experience in a supportive or leadership role i.e. system implementations/enhancementsJD Edwards, ReportsNow and Concur Expense experience is an assetProficient level of Excel Skills (financial modeling would be a great asset)Understanding of Canadian GAAP (ASPE/IFRS)Strong time management skills, multi-tasking, critical thinking and presentation skillsStrong communication skills both written and verbalAbility to communicate and influence senior management, including executives, at their levelAbilit...
