Our APPs play an integral role in comprehensive perioperative care, managing patients across the full continuum—from initial consultation through postoperative recovery and discharge. You will work alongside experienced cardiothoracic surgeons, APPs, and multidisciplinary professionals in a high-acuity, cutting-edge environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCritical Care ManagementManage patients recovering from complex cardiothoracic surgeries, including:Aortic surgeryCoronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)Thoracic surgeryValve surgeryMechanical Circulatory Support CollaborationPartner closely with attending physicians and APP colleagues in the management of advanced mechanical circulatory support devices, including:ECMOIntra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABPs)Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)ImpellaRight Ventricular Assist Devices (RVADs)Procedural Skills DevelopmentPerform and refine common ICU procedures, including:BronchoscopyCentral venous catheter placementArterial line insertionChest tube managementPatient Experience & Quality of CareFocus on optimizing patient experience, satisfaction, and clinical outcomesDeliver high-quality, evidence-based perioperative careDiagnostic & Clinical Decision-MakingOrder and interpret relevant diagnostic studiesApply clinical judgment to guide timely and appropriate interventionsEmergency ResponseRespond to critical and emergent situationsProvide rapid assessment and stabilization until definitive treatment is implementedIdeal CandidatePhysician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse PractitionerStrong interest or background in cardiothoracic surgery and/or critical careComfortable practicing with a high level of autonomy in a fast-paced ICU settingCommitted to teamwork, clinical excellence, and continuous professional growthWhat We Require:Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.Experience: 0Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and RN licensure required or Physician Assistant ( PA) , DEA license . AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
