Application Development Senior Analyst

We are going through an exciting period of expansion and seek to recruit into our Global Employer Segment which currently employs 8,000 people and has over 30 million customer relationships in more than 200 countries and jurisdictions.The International Health Data Engineering team is located in the heart of the Global Health Benefits delivery group and is responsible for Cigna's data integration hub which consumes data from multiple sources including all the policy admin systems, and makes it available to numerous downstream consumers. The data engineering team is central in provisioning the data that supports a number of key initiatives, including all the web portals, and multiple integrations both internal and external.As a member of this team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our existing systems, as well as establishing how our data-driven solutions are developed and coded. You will be encouraged to contribute your own ideas and expertise, as well as to keep your skills up to date through training and learning.The position reports to the Data Engineering Technical Lead and you will have the opportunity to engage with multiple teams across a number of different technological disciplines and geographical locations.Core responsibilities: Develop and maintain core ETL processesDevelop changes in T-SQL and SSIS for both “business as usual” and project work streams.Troubleshooting and problem resolution for data related issues.Work closely with scrum team members to document requirements, design technical solutions and attend project workshops and meetings.Model and document data mapping solutions, working with business and other technical teams to decide on the best solution.Assist with regular releases to live systems using CI/CD pipelines.Proactively suggest improvements to code, tools and ways of working.Essential Skills:Minimum of 5 years' experience in developing and supporting SQL Server ETL solutionsExpertise in T-SQL, including writing complex stored procedures, views and functionsStrong understanding of database concepts and experience with query optimization and performance tuningExperience of developing ETL routines utilising SSISHave knowledge and experience of OLAP and OLTP environmentsExcellent problem-solving skills and a flair for reverse engineering complex codeExperience working with Agile development methodologiesHighly desirable:Python, C#, VB.net or any other programming languageOracle and Postgres experienceDatabricks, Basic Cloud Experience (AWS/Azure)Git or other source control expertiseExperience working in an Agile team utilizing SAFeExperience of continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD)Experience with AI driven code generation toolsThe person:A real self-starter, happy to see a project or issue through to the endPassionat...
