This leadership position plays a key role in advancing institutional priorities, including UNLV’s Top Tier initiatives focused on student retention, progression, and completion. This reports directly to the Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Learning Services.The Assistant Director provides strategic and operational leadership for campus-wide learning support services, including in-person and virtual tutoring, embedded tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, the Rebel Learning Lounge, and related academic support programs. This role requires a collaborative and data-informed leader committed to expanding access to high-quality academic support and enhancing undergraduate student success.The position is responsible for managing the daily operations of comprehensive learning support programs serving a diverse undergraduate population. This includes supervising a team that consists of a full-time coordinator, three to six graduate assistants, and approximately 60-150 student employees depending on funding. Responsibilities include staff recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and timekeeping. The Assistant Director also works closely with unit leadership and the business manager to monitor student employee hours and ensure alignment with the allocated budget. A strong understanding of learning support strategies, national best practices, and effective promotion of services is essential.The Assistant Director leads assessment efforts for all learning support programs, including the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
