Position Summary: The Associate Chemist prepares and analyzes environmental samples using standard analytical techniques according to approved scientific methodology in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This position can be a physical job that may require standing for long periods, working with organic solvents, laboratory glassware and specialized equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Performs routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:Preparation of samples using standard techniquesPerforming chemical analysis using standard techniquesEvaluation and quantification of dataRecording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisorPerforming routine instrument maintenanceCompetency in complex instrumentation instrument specific software (training is provided)Responsible for keeping personal training documentation (training records, IDOC/DOC) current and accurateResponsible for timely completion of assigned/scheduled QC samples (MDL, LOD/LOQ, PT)As required, documents NCMs for projects with quality issuesUnderstands and utilizes backlog reports to manage personal workloadWorks under close supervision using routine and standard methodsRegular attendance and punctualityResponsible for general housekeeping in work areaProficient with IDOCs, for assigned methods carried out in the departmentResponsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins Environment health and safety and quality assurance standardsDemonstrates and promotes the company visionInventories and stocks laboratory suppliesWashes and inventories glasswarePurges analyzed samplesAssists in other areas of laboratory when neededAdditional duties as assigned Follow and learn appropriate protocols in one or more of the following disciplines.
