Applying outside of your employee Workday account may cause delays in a hire process.Department: School of Public AffairsTime Type: Part timeFLSA Status:Non-ExemptJob Description:Summary:We seek a qualified Teaching Assistant to help with Battleground Michigan class (COMM-420/620-GOVT-496/696 ) which will be taught in Fall 2026. The ideal candidate will have experience with the Battleground/campaign field class format and must be available to attend class throughout the Fall (Tuesdays 5:30-8:00 pm) as well as travel with the class to Michigan for the field period (Friday Oct 31 - Wednesday November 4; all travel expenses will be paid). The TA will be compensated a $2,500 stipend. Essential Functions:Support instructors by helping prepare and organize class materials, including organizing readings, briefing presentations (Powerpoints, etc) and assignment descriptions.Support the needs of the class during the field period with logistics, including things like catering orders and transportation arrangements.Be a lead point of contact for coordinating arrangements of guest speakers. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:Part-time.5 hours per week.Salary Range:$2,500 stipend.Required Education and Experience:Must be a currently enrolled graduate or undergraduate student with a program focus/major in SPA or SOC.Should have academic experience with Battleground/campaign class format, and work/internship experience in the area of campaigns and elections as well as demonstrated organizational skills handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
