Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Benefits & Payroll Intern to join our People team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of benefits administration and payroll operations. The intern will support our Benefits & Payroll team with critical tasks, contributing to compliance, efficiency, and a positive employee experience. This role is ideal for an eager learner looking to jumpstart their career in Human Resources or Business. What you'll do and how you'll have an impact LOA Administration Support: Assist in the administration and management of employee Leaves of Absence (LOA), including data entry, documentation creation, top-up calculations, tracking, and coordination with HR, payroll, and third-party benefit vendors. Payroll Compliance Assistance: Support multi-state payroll compliance activities across the US, including coordinating and executing the closure of state payroll accounts inherited from acquired entities, covering both State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) and State Income Tax withholding accounts (SIT). 401(k) Audit & Plan Support: Aid in the coordination and documentation preparation for annual 401(k) audits and related plan activities from acquired entities. Canadian Payroll Operations: Provide support for Canadian payroll processes, particularly related to provincial taxation requirements and current integration efforts, including assisting with manual data verification. Data Management & Reporting: Perform data entry, maintain accurate records, and generate reports as needed for benefits and payroll functions. Compliance Research: Conduct research on benefits and payroll compliance topics to ensure adherence to regulations. Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Benefits & Payroll department. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate (within the last 12 months) from a Bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. No prior professional work experience required. Strong academic record is highly desirable.
