CNMs provide care throughout the lifespan, with a focus on pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and general gynecological services.Responsibilities • Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women and their newborns. • Conduct routine gynecological exams, including Pap smears and breast exams. • Offer family planning services and contraceptive counseling. • Assist with labor and delivery, including natural and medically assisted births. • Monitor the health of mother and baby during and after childbirth. • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed. • Collaborate with OB-GYNs, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals. • Educate patients on reproductive health, childbirth preparation, and newborn care. • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records. • Advocate for holistic, patient-centered care and support maternal mental health • Document all patient interactions accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) inclusive of direct patient encounters and asynchronous care. Requirements • Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Washington State. • Successful completion of an American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM)-accredited nurse-midwifery program • Current active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (or its predecessor, the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Certification Council), or be actively seeking initial certification and obtain the same on the first examination for which he or she is eligible • Clinical experience in obstetrics, gynecology, or women’s health. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills. • DEA, NPI & Prescriptive authority • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association • Professional liability insurance coverage issued by a recognized company and in an ...
