This position provides the leadership and vision necessary to ensure proper operational controls, business and fiscal processes, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems are established for effective growth and operational efficiency and efficacy. Incumbents in these positions ensure the services provided by their assigned department, division, or similar business unit comply with all federal and state laws, program guidelines, procedures, and processes, and other governing rules. Typical FunctionsThe functions performed in this job family will vary by level, unit and organization, but may include the following:Oversees day-to-day operations of assigned area of responsibility, such as administrative or operational services, informational technology, legal services, fiscal/financial services, and agency programs and services.Ensures the programs, services, operational policies, rules, and initiatives, for their department comply with all applicable federal and state laws, and program guidelines.Plans and directs the implementation of agency system-wide internal and external activities and processes for programs and internal business functions, such as fiscal/financial, legal, human resources, and contracts and purchasing services.Communicates effectively to internal and external partners and stakeholders, provide input at relevant intra-agency, interagency and external stakeholder meetings.Establishes and maintains effective work relationships both within the agency and with all external partners for the purpose of accomplishing the goals and objectives of the agency.Seeks innovative solutions in obtaining resources to achieve improvements in new or existing programs. Collaborates with other Chief Officers and senior-level executive staff of the organization to develop, implement, and maintain the short- and long-term goals and strategic plans to drive agency of agency programs and services, and achieve organizational objectives.
