Department Overview

The Core Platforms & Services team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions' public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solutions’ Software Enterprise division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure, AWS & GCP to build at scale.

Job Description

The ideal candidate analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s platform infrastructure, performing system integration to ensure high throughput, security, and absolute reliability. In this role, you will focus on building robust Kubernetes platforms across multi-cloud systems and driving their entire Lifecycle Management (LCM), including self-hosted and managed cluster environments. You are expected to act as a key engineering partner for application teams,understanding their specific Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure requirements, integrating those needs back into our core platforms, and maintaining effective monitoring stacks to ensure full platform visibility. By defining clear SLAs, tracking SLOs, and relentlessly automating infrastructure provisioning, LCM operations, and platform enhancements using modern tools, you will scale these environments efficiently. You will own the end-to-end delivery of these systems, from testing structures and maintaining user documentation to ensuring mission-critical reliability.

Basic Requirements

Responsibilities will include

Provision, manage, and drive the full Lifecycle Management (LCM) of Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud environments, spanning both cloud-managed clusters and self-hosted cluster deployments.

Network, cloud, and security design and implementation of core services used by our Public Safety cloud solutions.

•

Support cloud platform operations and sovereign operations including issue troubleshooting and resolution.

•

Define and meet scalability, availability, security, and performance goals.

•

Rapidly build and evolve major features in collaboration with product management.

Utilize Helm charts extensively to deploy, update, and manage core application manifest components...
