As a faith- and values-based organization, we hire and serve people of all backgrounds and walks of life - there is a place for everyone to belong here.Mission StatementThe Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.Job Description:Position Purpose summary: The Community Ministries Coordinator position is a multifaceted position where the incumbent is expected to coordinate and provide oversight to all aspects of Community service programming.AccountabilitiesProgramming:Coordinate all existing and create and implement new community ministry programming as needed to ensure ministry unit objectives are accomplished.Conduct a community needs assessment and strategic planning to ensure all Community Ministries programming reflects the needs of the community and client needs as these may evolve with the ever-changing socioeconomic climate.Actively work to recruit new volunteers and work with existing volunteers (including student volunteers) to assist in day-to-day community ministry operations.Ensure that community ministers programs meet contractual, legal, and internal accreditation requirements as required.Collaborate with community agencies providing client referrals and support as needed.Make necessary referrals to shelter, health care, professional counseling, spiritual and religious care, and other relevant support.Support, advocate for, and refer clients to housing and related resources with the goal of reintegration into the community.Provide emergency assistance services, i.e., meal referrals, clothing, hygiene in accordance with policy.Coordinate and carry out programs, workshops, and special events, etc.May provide feeding program oversight and support services based on community needs. i.e. ordering and/or receipt of food donations, recording, general cleanliness, organization.Network with The Salvation Army, government and, community social service providers to coordinate resources for the benefit of clients and program.Support Emergency Response events or preparedness training as required.Communication and Reporting:Attend local community board meetings as required by the Ministry UnitGeneral administrative duties such as answering and directing phones, directing inquiries, email corresponding, etc.Maintain accurate records of client information on The Salvation Army’s Client Management System (CMS) and Link2Feed while m...
