CoralWatchFaculty of SciencePart time (14.5 hours per week), Fixed Term position for up to 4 months.Base salary will be in the range $85,452 - $94,984 + 17% super (HEW Level 5).Based at our St Lucia location.About This OpportunityCoralWatch is seeking a purposeful and collaborative Project Officer to support the delivery of projects that connect reef monitoring, education, outreach and community engagement. Working in a fast-paced and impact-focused environment, you will contribute to project planning, stakeholder coordination, communications, documentation, field logistics and educational activities that help communities better understand coral reefs, coral bleaching and climate change.Key responsibilities will include:Support the successful delivery and administration of CoralWatch projects, including planning, monitoring, evaluation, documentation and project records.Assist with planning and coordinating field expeditions, including logistics, equipment preparation, safety procedures and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.Develop and update communications materials, educational resources, promotional content and social media activities using Adobe software.Coordinate stakeholder engagement, respond to enquiries from educators, researchers, community members and other stakeholders, and support workshops, presentations and outreach events.About YouCompletion of a relevant diploma or degree (e.g., environmental science, communications, education) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Experience conducting marine or environmental fieldwork.Knowledge of coral reef ecosystems and marine conservation principles.Experience delivering environmental education or community engagement programs.Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Adobe suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)Demonstrated project coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.Excellent oral, written and stakeholder engagement communication skillsDemonstrated skills in providing a high level of customer service, including effective interpersonal skills.About UQAs part of the UQ community, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world, working together to create a better world.
