The Custodian is responsible for performing housekeeping, general cleaning, and other assigned tasks as required to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the school building and grounds. As a key member of the statewide Facilities team, the Custodian will report to the Campus Facilities Manager. This position is a full time position with a requirement to work the occasional night/weekend. This role furthers the mission of KIPP Texas by providing a clean, maintained and safe learning environment for students and faculty.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Daily OperationsOpen and secure facilities, including unlocking doors, disabling/enabling the alarm system, and verifying that HVAC and lighting systems are operationalPerform general cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, window cleaning, restroom sanitation and restocking, whiteboard cleaning, drinking fountain upkeep, and trash removalPick up litter on school grounds and athletic fieldsComplete daily laundry tasks (mop heads, towels, etc.)Respond promptly to emergency cleanup situationsEquipmentOperate, clean, and maintain equipment (mops, buckets, auto-scrubber, etc.)Perform floor care including stripping, waxing, sealing, and carpet stain extractionHandle minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, swapping air filters, and touch-up paintingLearn and monitor key building systems, including fire alarm, security, main shutoffs, and electrical breakersCampus SupportMove and rearrange furniture; assist with meal setup as neededAssist with cleaning of campus vehicles, if applicableCheck in weekly with supervisor(s) to report supply needs, cleaning concerns, and equipment issuesAttend required team me...
