Director, Manufacturing Maintenance

We're standing up a central maintenance function from a blank sheet of paper, and we need a leader to own it end to end.WHAT YOU'LL DO Build and lead Anduril's central maintenance function and Center of Excellence from the ground up—defining the standards, policies, and best practices that every site will run on. Recruit, develop, and lead a team of maintenance professionals spanning administrative, tactical, and strategic roles. Partner with site-specific maintenance leaders, providing oversight, mentorship, and a consistent operating model across locations. Design and deploy systems for work order management, preventative maintenance, equipment selection, and asset tracking. Support the launch of new and Greenfield facilities and lead maintenance for automation initiatives. Own documentation, calibration, and upkeep of tooling and equipment across the network. Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes, reliability, and performance management. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with manufacturing, controls engineering, and automation teams—and roll up your sleeves on the shop floor when it counts. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 10–15 years of maintenance experience, ideally in manufacturing environments. Role can be based out of Columbus, OH or Costa Mesa, CA with up to 50% travel to support standing up Manufacturing Maintenance across all Anduril sites. Demonstrated experience building maintenance standards and systems from scratch. Hands-on experience with OEMs, automated equipment, and standing up Greenfield or early-stage manufacturing facilities. Background in automotive, aerospace, or heavy industry (e.g., Caterpillar, Boeing, Tier 1 suppliers). Skilled-trades background or engineering experience paired with a hands-on approach. Proven ability to operate at both the strategic and shop-floor levels. Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
