Job Title: Director Regulatory PolicyLocation: Columbus, OHHybrid Schedule: Onsite Tuesday-ThursdayJob SummaryThe Director, Regulatory Policy serves as Columbia Gas of Ohio's primary representative with regulatory and governmental stakeholders in Ohio. This role leads the development and execution of regulatory policy and strategy for gas and electric operations, advises executive leadership on regulatory matters, and drives engagement with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders to support the company's business objectives. The Director evaluates the evolving regulatory environment, identifies opportunities and risks, and influences outcomes that advance Columbia Gas of Ohio's strategic priorities.Essential FunctionsAct as primary regulatory liaison between Columbia Gas of Ohio and the Ohio Public Utility Commission and other relevant State agencies on regulatory issues important to the CompanyServe as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on regulatory and public policy mattersLead negotiations on some gas and electric regulatory initiativesLead the development of an Ohio Gas regulatory strategic planCollaborate with other functions to identify key issues where regulatory policies need to be developed; draft policies in conjunction with Regulatory Accounting, Rates and LegalSponsor some policy testimony, as well as function as a major contributor to testimony in key casesSupport Ohio marketing/sales and operations initiativesReview opinions and decisions issued by regulatory agencies, other utilities’ rate structures and findings of rate and load research groupsProvide an ongoing assessment of the regulatory environment, including an evaluation of opportunities and exposures related to energy and general business issues in OhioCoordinate and communicate global/federal regulatory issues with peers inside Columbia Gas of Ohio.Required Qualifications For PositionBachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Political Science, Public Policy, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.Extensive regulatory, and/or governmental and/or financial experienceExperience with regulated utility in management of external affairsStrong knowledge of the gas and electric utility industryFamiliarity with Indiana government, political and business environmentsStrong interpersonal skillsDemonstrated effectiveness in negotiating with regulatory stakeholdersStrong relationships/contacts with Indiana public officials, key regulatory staffAbility to comprehend and assimilate complex regulatory informationAbility to organize complex, diverse material into a cohesive, understandable messageKnowledge of rate theory and applicationKnowledge of regulatory and legislative processDemonstrated witness experienceDemonstrated proficiency with computer applicationsPreferred Additional Qualifications for PositionMaster's degree (MBA, MPA, Public Policy, Economics, or related field) and/or Juris Doctor (JD)10+ years of experience in utility regulation, governme...
