Lightning Source gives the publishing community options to print books in any quantity, one to 10,000, and provides its customers access to the most comprehensive worldwide bookselling channel in the industry.    Job Summary  To provide support to the IPS MK Warehouse team under the supervision of the Team Leader.Essential Job Duties:Pick customer orders, ensuring a high level of quality and productivityPackaging and dispatch of booksForklift driving and maintenanceSupervise unloading/loading of containers and trailersAssist with goods inwards/outwards in accordance with proceduresShip goods outwards ensuring that they are clearly labelled and addressed correctlyMaintain the distribution area, goods inwards, loading bay area and yard in a clean and orderly manner.Assist in Quality ControlAssist in removing waste materials from siteAssist with regular stock takes as required;Work to set procedures in accordance with quality controlsMonitor and report necessary replenishment of suppliesTo be responsible for your own Health and Safety and be aware of factors affecting your colleagues in order to maintain a safe environment.To report any accidents, potential hazards to your Line Manager immediately.In addition to the above the Warehouse Assistant will perform other duties as reasonably requested by the management teamEssential Physical Demands:Ability to walk and stand continuously during the assigned shift. Ability to lift/carry in full range of motion up to 20 kilos during the assigned shift.Ability to push/pull in a manufacturing environment up to 20 kilos to push during the assigned shift.Ability to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift.Ability to bend, kneel/squat, twist/turn, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shift.Ability to work designated shift including overtime as required.Ability to work a flexible schedule which could include nights and weekends & ability to travel as neededExposure to wide range of temperatures Experience:6 months experience in a warehouse environment requiredEducation:GCSE’s or equivalent.Skills: Must be able to operate a personal computer effectively.Reading comprehensionWriting skillsMath skills – basic arithmetic, addition, subtractionAttention to detailAbility to work safely and adhere to safety guidelines in a warehouse environmentAbility to perform repetitive manual tasksAbility to work independently or collaborate in a group environmentAbility to be flexible/multi-task based on workflow demandsAbility to meet a...
