About The RoleA truck driver drives the Van or Box truck to move, transfer, load, and unload materials safely and efficiently while following the safety rules.Work collaboratively with the warehouse dock associates to ensure all the materials are loaded and unloaded safely without any incident.The drivers may need to get certified on other powered industrial machines, such as pallet jacks, rider pallet jack or electric pallet jacks as needed to load and unload the pallets. This also requires a strong understanding of safety procedures and the ability to operate these machines safely and efficiently.What You Will DoDrivers must demonstrate safe driving habits at all times.Pick up and deliver materials and products to designated warehouses within the city.Inspect and maintain the trucks to ensure proper functioning.Perform routine maintenance.Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, coworkers, and other departments.Adhere to quality standards and ensure the integrity of products during handling and transportation.Follow company policies and procedures related to material handling and warehouse operations.Maintain the truck clean and fill out daily checklist of truck maintenance.Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives.Comply with regulatory requirements and guidelines pertaining to truck driving operation.Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.Uphold a positive and professional attitude while working in a team environment.Ability to load and unload trailers in a safe manner, including double-stacked pallets and frame racks.Report to management any damaged boxes, products, or pallets that might be encountered in one’s daily activities.Attend weekly safety/informational meetings and ad hoc meetings as required by management.Understand and follow all truck drivers’ QMS documentation.Must possess a current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Any change in license status or driving record must be reported to Human Resources immediately.Must have a valid driver’s license in his or her possession while operating a vehicle off or on Company property. It is the responsibility of drivers to drive safely and obey all traffic, vehicle safety, and parking laws or regulations.No mobile phones are allowed while operating a company vehicle as required by state laws, which includes dialing, talking, or listening, as well as email and text.
