If you want to be a part of our growing company that is driven by innovation and is focused on building the future together with our employees, consider applying. Principle duties and essential functionsPerforming research on optical transmission systems, subsystems and distributed fiber sensing with focus on the physical layerSetting up experimental assemblies in the laboratory and conducting experimentsContribution to the organization of the laboratoryCooperation with national and international project partnersInternal subproject lead for research and advanced development projectsCreative application of knowledge and experience in the several of the following fields:Technologies for increasing capacity of optical communication systems (multi-band transmission, space-division multiplexing)Amplifier setups for new applicationsTechniques for monitoring signal quality in optical networksJoint data communication and distributed fiber sensing Knowledge, skills and experience requiredDiploma or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related areaGood programming skills (e.g. Python, C/C++)Good knowledge in optical transmission technologies and optical fiber effectsLaboratory experience in optical sub-system and system characterizationIdeally experience in one or more of the following topics:Coherent optical transmission and optical modulationOptical amplification and switchingMonitoring of signal quality in an optical networkGood presentation and communication skillsInnovative, highly motivated personalityFluent in oral and written English, fluency in German is a plusCapability to think strategic, innovative, constructive and application oriented BenefitsPossibility to work in an international, multicultural environmentStrong team-oriented, friendly work culture and flexible working hours (work-life-balance)Internal training programFitness, commuting and kindergarten allowance...
