Scope:The EHSS Coordinator has the responsibility of working on EHSS compliance with Canadian United States regulations and requirements. Will conduct inspection and record various EHSS related equipment such as fire extinguishers, exit signs, security doors, forklift and other lifting devices, as well as safety mechanism of various manufacturing equipment and devices. Create and review safety programs and help with implementation of such programs. May be exposed to hazardous materials while performing daily job duties. Will actively participate in ongoing hazardous material, chemical handling and various EHS related training as required.Duties:Stay current with all government requirements for a manufacturing environmentAdminister EHS office and its systems (such as ISO14001, Health and Safety Program documentation)Conduct inspections of workplace areas and emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, fire panels, sprinkler system, safety showers and eyewash stationsConduct inspection of all building areas from security systems stand-point. Perform video surveillance reviews as needed.Maintain records of inspections; measure trends and deficienciesAdminister all relevant EHS internal and external documentationCoordinate health and safety programs such as WHMIS Hazard Communication, Lead Awareness, LOTO, and noise control, PPEs, and hazard assessments in compliance with applicable state and federal regulationsAble to conduct various EHS trainingParticipate in job task analysis and other monitoring activities such as noise monitoring and industrial hygieneEnforce and support company hazardous materials and waste labeling requirementsRespond to chemical spills and support the emergency response team as neededHelp drive cost savings and pollution prevention measuresFollow all safety measures and lead by exampleEssential Knowledge and Skills:Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the jobBe computer literate with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office productsAble to communicate effectively in both printed and verbal formatsAble to efficiently perform and monitor several related activitiesAble to work independently and as part of a teamFamiliar with EPA, DOT and OSHA regulationsEducation and Experience:B...
