Estate & Trust AdministratorWe are seeking an experienced Estate Settlement Administrator to manage the full lifecycle of estate administration for high-net-worth clients (typically $3MM+ estates). This role is hands-on and focused on estate settlement.Key ResponsibilitiesLead estate settlement from start to finish: identify/marshal assets, review legal documents, review income and estate tax returns, review accounting, and oversee distributionsCoordinate with outside counsel, ensuring legal documents are completed accuratelyPartner with accountants, appraisers, and internal teamsServe as primary contact for beneficiaries and external partnersCollaboration with Trust Officers on interim trust administrationEnsure compliance, risk management, and fee oversightMentor junior team membersEducation and Experience Required:Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years’ estate and trust settlement administrative experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ estate and trust settlement administrative experienceEducation and Experience Preferred:Background from banks, law firms, or fiduciary environments preferredExperience working with high-net-worth clientsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsJD or advanced credentials a plusWork EnvironmentFull-time, in-office role (collaborative team of ~4)Limited client-facing in-office interaction#LI-LA1M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $74,600.00 - $124,400.00 Annual (USD).
