Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Software Engineer to join the National Systems Programs (NSP) software team in El Segundo CA or Chantilly, VA.
The selected candidate will work perform full stack development using the AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience working across the tech stack with a solid understanding of software architecture, infrastructure tooling, and engineering fundamentals. The candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders to design and implement scalable software solutions, ensure engineering excellence, and achieve program objectives.
As a member of the Boeing software team, you will be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization and development to the maintenance and support of the delivered system for our customers. Position Responsibilities
•
Develops, tests, and maintains web applications that meet industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards
•
Reviews, analyze, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products
•
Develops, maintains, enhances, and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations
•
Develops, documents, and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
•
Participates in the agile software development lifecycle including planning, reviews, and supporting customer meetings
•
Analyze, characterize, debug and resolve performance related issues to ensure reliability and efficiency of software products
•
Handles user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze user feedback
•
Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development
•
Develop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics that align with organization goals and industry benchmarks
•
Executes and documents software research and development projects
•
Advise on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
•
Performs software project management activities and software supplier management functions
•
Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards
•
Performs cost benefit analysis to help guide technical solutions
Security Clearance
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
