We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and repair of industrial alternators and associated electrical/mechanical systems at customer sites.The ideal candidate is hands-on, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field with frequent travel.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues with power generation componentsEnsure delivered-quality compliance to engineering specifications and customer requirementsProvide on-site technical support and training to customersCollaborate with engineering and internal teams to resolve complex technical issuesPrepare detailed service reports, documenting work performed and findingsQualificationsAssociate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (preferred)Minimum 2–5 years of field service experience, ideally with alternators, generators, or rotating equipmentStrong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, controls, and power generation equipmentAbility to troubleshoot using multimeters, diagnostic tools, and testing equipmentMechanical aptitude with experience in bearings, alignment, and rotating assembliesRead and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and wiring diagramsExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyValid driver’s license and willingness to travel (up to 100%)Preferred SkillsExperience with industrial alternators or synchronous generatorsKnowledge of PLC systems and control panelsOSHA or safety certificationsWork EnvironmentPosition is based from Wausau, WI.Frequent travel to customer sites, including industrial plants and outdoor environmentsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditionsExposure to electrical equipment, rotating machinery, and varying climatesFounded in 1961, WEG is a global electric-electronic equipment company, operating mainly in the capital goods sector with solutions in electric machines, automation and ...
