If you need assistance or have questions regarding the application process, please contact Human Resources at (702) 895-3504 or unlvjobs@unlv.edu.Job DescriptionThe University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Financial Aid Counselor, UNLV Financial Aid, Outreach and Client Services [R0153217]ROLE of the POSITIONReporting to the Senior Assistant Director of Outreach and Client Services, this position works directly with students to enhance their understanding of opportunities for, and processes and responsibilities of a financial aid recipient. This position provides students, families, UNLV staff, internal and external community with information about financing higher education. The Financial Aid Counselor will need to know details of and be able to explain many important types and concepts for higher education funding including scholarships, debt management strategies, costs of attendance, basic financial planning, financial aid policy & procedure, necessary paperwork for specific processes, follow up (electronic correspondence, phone calls), business processes, how to navigate web portals (both UNLV and external), and interactive applications.This individual also attends outreach activities where they can meet 1:1 with prospective and current students and parents, explain financial aid processes and review student accounts for eligibility and award status and will provide group presentations as necessary.All positions in Academic Affairs contribute to our core mission: to increase enrollment and promote equitable student success.
