Job Overview The successful candidate will perform critical technical support to our Fire Engineering and Fire Surveying teams and clients UK wide. Here at Jensen Hughes, our clients trust us to respond rapidly and deliver conclusive reports, of the highest technical standard. You will undertake on-site fire inspections/surveys (particularly during the construction phase as well as the operational phase) and will be involved in external wall surveys during both new build and refurbishment, undertaking fire stopping and fire compartmentation surveys, fire door inspections and from time to time fire risk assessments. You will ultimately support the fire safety disciplines at Jensen Hughes. You will report direct to our Lead Surveyor and Divisional Director. Responsibilities Undertaking external façade assessments and survey investigations to meet the requirement of the industry standard such as implementing the PAS 9980 methodology for existing buildings and the overall EWS1 process. Carrying out active and passive fire protection systems surveys and technical reports Compliance assessment and understanding of the main British Fire Safety Legislation and standards applied to different building occupancies, such as Approved Document B (ADB), BS9999, BS9991 & BS7974 etc. Updating the passive fire protection technical knowledge base as industry updates are implemented.
