You’ll find your purpose in helping others regain their independence, a culture of innovation, and the chance to be a vital part of a leading rehabilitation institute transforming lives every day.Key Position Details:1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)Tuesday - Saturday - 8/12 combo hours day/evening shiftsJob Description:Provides fitness and aquatic programs for clients in a safe and supervised environment for the promotion of wellness to maximize functional independence.Principle ResponsibilitiesConducts and assists clients with aquatic, fitness and activity based and locomotive exercise (ABLE) programs.Conducts 1:1 instruction and hands-on assistance to clients.Monitors clients' progress and makes program changes to facilitate clients' maximum independence and achieve fitness goals.Manages and supervises program members during fitness time, provide assistance and coaching on proper exercise technique.Responds to emergency situations so that Emergency Action Plan is effectively carried out.Maintains a safe environment for all clientsMay support ABLE assessments and exercise programs.May provide lifeguarding if fitness program is aquatic.May perform aquatics and fitness assessments and design exercise programs.Completes necessary documentationPerforms administrative tasksEnsures compliance with all applicable legal requirements and accreditation standardsOther duties as assigned.Required QualificationsAssociate's or Vocational degree Physical Therapy Assistant, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or other health related fieldBachelor's degree in Health and Exercise Science orBachelor's degree in Kinesiology orBachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related fieldPreferred Qualifications 0 to 2 years experience in teaching aquatic skillsLicenses/CertificationsMust meet at least ONE of the requirements below◦ Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association◦ Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross◦ Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days) ACSM Certification – Inclusive Fitness Trainer or Certified Exercise Physiologist preferredLifeguard Certification from American Red Cross within 2 weeks of hire requiredPhysical DemandsMedium Work*:Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequentlyPay RangePay Range: $23.22 t...
