MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
- Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Supplement and modify, when appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and instructional materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required documentation.
- Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that support student learning and contribute to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
- Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students with their learning.
- Interact with students and colleagues in a professional and collaborative manner, complying with college policies, guidelines, and expectations.
- Maintain a safe, high quality online educational environment.
- Promote an inclusive environment that reflects the diversity of our students and employees, ensuring every individual feels respected and valued.
- Participate in program-level continuous improvement activities, including contributing to ABET accreditation preparation, documentation, assessment processes, and compliance with accreditation standards.
Instruction & Student Learning
- Teaches assigned courses as scheduled. Designs curriculum embracing diversity, in all forms, to foster talent in students while modeling inclusive teaching strategies, with an understanding of the socio-cultural issues of traditionally underrepresented groups.
- Considers individual differences of students in order to design and support a range of appropriate learning activities.
- Participates in the identification of students with academic or other needs and responds by utilizing an appropriate resource.
