The Jefferson County Innovation Fellowship is a 1–2-year program that equips aspiring innovators with the skills to transform government services through new technologies and solutions. It is a full-time role with limited medical benefits that can act as a launch pad for a career in civic innovation and technology.

Professional Development
The Jefferson County Innovation Fellowship program is designed to provide talented individuals with an opportunity to gain practical and diverse real-world experience in government innovation. Fellows will learn about the inner workings of county government and make a difference in the community through meaningful projects. Fellows will interact with senior leaders, attend high-level meetings, and will be exposed to the responsibilities and challenges of multiple departments.

About the Position
We are searching for a Generative AI Innovation Fellow to accelerate the county’s work around generative AI. This role places you at the forefront of cutting-edge technology evaluations and pilots, driving transformative change across county operations. A successful candidate will promote responsible and ethical use of generative AI tools; research, identify, and lead pilot projects; support policy recommendations; and work to assemble stakeholders around the county for generative AI pilots and projects. A successful candidate will be well versed in stakeholder engagement and communications, able to leverage their people skills in tandem with their technical skills to keep individuals around the county engaged in the work of the emerging tech team.
As a key player in the county's innovation efforts, you'll lead impactful projects alongside the Emerging Tech team that leverage the potential of AI, ensuring that Jefferson County remains a leader in public sector innovation.
