About this roleYOUR TEAMThe Investment Accounting Group provides accounting and regulatory data services to financial institutions. The team delivers asset accounting and reconciliation services, monthly accounting packages, regulatory schedules, and related reporting. Working across investment products and accounting frameworks, the team helps clients address evolving financial reporting and regulatory requirements while maintaining effective processes and controls.YOUR ROLE AND IMPACTAs a Vice President in the Investment Accounting Group, you will support the delivery of accounting and reporting services while responding to the evolving needs and priorities of our clients. You will help oversee the monthly accounting close, lead client and departmental initiatives, strengthen processes and controls, and coordinate capabilities from across BlackRock to deliver business and client objectives. The breadth of the team’s services provides opportunities to expand your knowledge across investment products, accounting complexities, regulatory requirements, technical capabilities, and client-facing business areas.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESIn every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results. The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:Develop detailed knowledge of BlackRock’s capabilities, products, and services for financial institutions. Stay current on the evolving regulatory landscape and new accounting pronouncements, and clearly communicate their implications to support client compliance across multiple bases of accounting, including United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and United States statutory accounting.Apply knowledge of derivative concepts and derivative accounting to support investment accounting processes, analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and client deliverables.Support business growth, new-client implementations, and client retention within the insurance sector by partnering with teams across BlackRock and representing accounting on cross-functional projects and working groups.Lead the continued development of investment reporting production and control processes to improve efficiency, mitigate operational risk, incorporate business and product changes, and maintain procedures that reflect current practices.Partner with vendors to communicate development priorities, support delivery, and help ensure that accounting and reporting solutions meet business and client requirements.Serve as a senior point of contact for clients on accounting-related matters, conduct training for the Investment Accounting team, review quarterly National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and other regulatory reconciliations, support audits,...
