Internal Audit Intern (Fall 2026) - Westchester, IL
Ingredion is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student to join our Global Internal Audit team as an Internal Audit Intern. In this role, you will support audit activities and leverage data analytics to evaluate operational, financial, and compliance processes across the organization. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a real-world environment while gaining exposure to enterprise systems, internal controls, and business operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to meaningful projects that drive risk awareness and process improvements across the organization. As an Internal Audit Intern, your responsibilities will include: Under the supervision of a Manager, Senior, or experienced Staff, assist with audit execution, including: Documenting business processes and controls Performing audit testing procedures Evaluating supporting evidence Preparing audit workpapers Leverage data analysis and data mining to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential risks Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve internal controls over financial reporting Support the development of analytics-based procedures for compliance and audit testing Exposure to enterprise systems including SAP & Concur Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of accounting and management controls to ensure that valid, properly authorized transactions are completely and accurately processed Determining compliance with Company policies, standards, procedures, and applicable statutes and government regulations The Internal Audit Intern position is well suited for you if you are: Passionate for impactful work, with a broad encompassing vision for creative problem solving Professional, with detailed precision and attention to detail Highly motivated and curious to learn about our business and root causes for issues and trends/outliers in underlying data Passionate about forming relationships and being a phenomenal teammate Comfortable with communication and can engage with others, ask questions and openly share ideas Focused in career areas of auditing, data analysis, IT audit, compliance, accounting and/or finance Qualified candidates will have: Progress towards a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or similar with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 Ability to work 20-30 hrs per week during the fall internship term Ability to work on-site in Westchester office at least 1 day per weekProficient computer skills using Microsoft application suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) Proven experience or coursework in data visualizations tools, such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred Excellent proven written and verbal communications skills to interact with all levels of managemen...
