Job DescriptionTo provide a quality investigations service, ensure containment of claims spend and provide excellent service in setting a culture of best practice within mandated responsibility.Investigators responsibilities: Handle all primary validations on the claim, including previous insurance checks, interviewing relevant parties, contact SAPS etcRetrieve and listen to the claims, sales & client services conversation if any problem is picked up on the claimCalls for transcriptionsSend prejudice requests Request and attach accident reports, settlement letters and copy of registration documentsAttach prejudice request and other relevant documentationMake sure that vehicle is uplifted to an approved panel beater or Auction NationEnsure vehicle assessor is appointedThis signoff must be dealt with by the reporting ManagerStandard validation comments / Not recorded on SOP or Iwyze documentation.Visiting scenes and investigating the circumstances;Assessing a range of factual information including the claimant’s background;Checking details with policy holders, witnesses and other professionals (e.g. police);Writing reports and collating information;Presenting evidence in a forum;Protect the company from paying out invalid claims;Arranging payments and any other required services (builders, plumbers, panel beaters etc)Giving advice on claims;Liaising with solicitors and negotiating a payment;Deciding who is liable;Keeping the customers’ policy information updatedMatricRelevant Certificate - Insurance / Investigation naSkillsAction Planning, Claims Management, Claims Settlement, Data Compilation, Data Controls, Executing Plans, Financial Auditing, Insurance Claims Investigations, Oral Communications, Presenting SolutionsCompetenciesBusiness InsightCollaboratesDecision QualityDrives ResultsEnsures AccountabilityFinancial AcumenInstills TrustManages ComplexityEducationNQF Level 5 - Higher, Advance or Occupational Certificate or equivalentClosing Date04 August 2026 , 23:59The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.The Old Mutual Story!
