Investment Banking, Business Manager, Vice President
Job Purpose: BTIG seeks an Investment Banking Business Manager in our New York or San Francisco office. This individual will partner with senior bankers and key stakeholders (Finance, Legal/Compliance, Operations, Technology, HR, Risk) to drive the operational, financial, and strategic execution of the Investment Banking platform. This role focuses on improving business performance, enabling growth initiatives, ensuring robust controls, and delivering high-quality reporting and governance. Duties & Responsibilities: Partner with Investment Banking leadership to define priorities, track execution against strategic initiatives, and drive accountability. Develop business cases for new products, headcount, and investment initiatives; support implementation planning and change management. Identify process gaps and lead initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and client/service delivery. Own regular business performance reporting (revenue, pipeline, productivity, expense management, profitability) and deliver insights to leadership. Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and headcount planning processes; monitor run-rate and variance drivers. Create KPI frameworks and dashboards to support decision-making. Oversee deal pipeline tracking and data integrity in CRM and related systems; produce management reporting and ad hoc analytics. Standardize reporting cadence, templates, and definitions across coverage/product teams. Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Risk to support policies, supervisory controls, and regulatory readiness. Support documentation, approvals, and committee materials for business-related governance forums. Act as a central point of coordination across functions to resolve operational issues and deliver projects. Support onboarding/offboarding, access entitlements, and workflow coordination with Operations/Technology. Drive vendor management and tool optimization (CRM, data providers, reporting tools) in partnership with IT and Procurement. Requirements & Qualifications: 6–10 years in investment banking, banking COO/business management, strategy, finance, or consulting with IB exposure. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree a plus. Strong understanding of investment banking coverage/product workflows and key commercial drivers. Strongly prefer candidates with prior front office IB Analyst / Associate experience (industry coverage and/or product) Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable outcomes. Advanced analytical capabilities; ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive-level messaging.
