Purpose of the job:  Due to the increase of volumes, we requested a Jnr Shift Manager to assist us to run an additional shift as we have gone into a 3 shift structure. The other reason for this additional role was so that the current two Shift Managers work their normal 8 hour week and also run their own two shifts instead of working the 6 day weeks and additional hours per day they have been running. The Jnr Shift Manager will also be responsible to run a full shift on his own. He will have Champions reporting into him who will assist him to ensure we achieve our business targets This job will assist us in achieving our targets because all three shifts will now have their own shift managers to run the shifts This position reports to the : Shift Manager Your responsibilities will include:  The Jnr Shift Manager will also be responsible to run a full shift on his own.  He will have Champions reporting into him who will assist him to ensure we achieve the following.  Outbound KPI’s – Customer orders to be shipped by 5pm daily.  Adhere to and enforce SLA compliance  Picking and Packing Productivity – Ensure that we meet company targets.  Cost control – manage labour / heads on shift vs volumes and hours.  Packing costs – manage usage on the floor.  Housekeeping – manage the team to ensure they keep areas within standards.  Goals – ensure that each individual has a clear understanding of their goals  Review internal processes and continue to iterate and innovate to improve department continuously  Apply our company values into daily tasks  Operating Targets achieved, budget controlled and phased accordingly  Safety social systems entrenched  Improved order processing LEAD time Qualification & Experience: Grade 12 – National Senior Certificate Supply Chain or Logistics higher certificate is preferred 3-5 years Supervisory experience in logistics or distribution environment People management experience, good oral and written communication skills Decision making and problem solving ability Ability to manage change within a logistics operation • Will commit and achieve targets and project timelines. • Willing to work shifts, including weekends if necessary, in an operational 7/365 environment • Self-starter with high energy levels a must • Must be able to work as part of a multi-cultural team Attributes Req...
