This role will report to the Director of Engineering. You will collaborate closely with talented product, data, and design teams to build data ingestion systems and new product experiences which may include AI enhancements. Where you will work: This role will be based in our New York City office (in the Financial District). You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  What you will do: Provide technical oversight and drive new features with a focus on Garner’s strategic mission Build a high-performance team by mentoring, providing feedback, and hiring Continuously strive for quality while maintaining speed of delivery Collaborate across disciplines by identifying bottlenecks and risks, proposing mitigation, and communicating tradeoffs Protect our users’ privacy and security through best practices The ideal candidate has: 6+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with a track record of translating ambiguous business requirements into scalable solutions and new product features 2+ years of managing engineering teams, with a proven ability to inspire, motivate, mentor, and retain top engineering talent Familiarity with web application development, API design and cloud infrastructure like AWS Strong sense of ownership and proactive problem-solving mindset A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback.
