RaceTrac Company OverviewJob Description:The Inventory Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring that all inventory balances, sales, cost of sales and its components, and shrink are valued correctly and stated accurately in the financial statements and weekly reports. This responsibility covers all RaceTrac stores and RaceWay stores.What You'll Do:Manages the day-to-day accounting tasks and responsibilities of the retail accounting teamReviews all margins and shrink data before approving the financial book schedules that are assigned to the Inventory Accounting department at month endEnsures RaceTrac accounting policies and practices are in accordance with current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Monitors changes and assesses the impact to RaceTrac.Promotes communication and strong relationships between Inventory Accounting and other internal departments, such as: Category Management, Supply Chain, Marketing, Cash Management, Payment Systems, and OperationsHelps to professionally develop Inventory Accounting team membersCreates efficiencies for all tasks and processes used by the Inventory Accounting teamCarries out ad hoc reports/assignments as neededPartners with Senior Manager in the development and maintenance of department wide plans, goals, and deadlinesDevelops and maintains strong working relationships with internal departments and outside vendorsSupports special projects and workflow process improvements as needed.Promotes a compliant and professional team in alignment with RaceTrac’s core values and leadership qualities.What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University with a concentration in finance, business, accounting or related field of study3-5 years accounting experience1-2 years supervisory experienceStrong understanding and working knowledge of US GAAPAdvanced experience using MS Office Suite, particularly ExcelCPA is a plusResponsibilities:Manages the day-to-day accounting tasks and responsibilities of the retail accounting teamReviews all margins and shrink data before approving the financial book schedules that are assigned to the Inventory Accounting department at month endEnsures RaceTrac accounting policies and practices are in accordance with current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
