Material Planner II

Join a team that values innovation, creativity, and quality.POSITION OVERVIEWThe purpose of the Material Planner II is to analyze customer forecasts and place purchase orders to ensure that manufacturing has the right parts, in the right place, at the right time, in the right quantity to complete each day’s schedule. This includes managing component inventory levels and arranging expedites in response to customer demand changes or delivery issues. WHAT YOU’LL DODevelop an understanding of suppliers, their processes, supply chain & the logistics of how material ships.Escalate, manage, and avoid potential disruptions to manufacturing.  If a part shortage does occur within production, respond in a timely manner providing an update with the resolution plan and timeline.Release purchase orders at lead time, reschedule due dates of purchase orders as customer demand fluctuates in an effort to meet the desired inventory target.Continuously monitor open purchase orders with suppliers to ensure on time delivery and follow up with suppliers if any orders fall past due.Proactively review part setups within the system to ensure proper ordering from suppliers and interplant movement of components. Work closely with the Purchasing team to ensure we have internal alignment with suppliers.Build and maintain relationships with our supply base consistent with that of the commodity team.Engage with the receiving teams to resolve issues with incoming deliveries, including but not limited to paperwork discrepancies, labeling issues, damaged shipments, etc.Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure suppliers receive payment for goods on time.Utilize planning tools and ERP system to successfully manage inventory.Other duties as assigned.HOW YOU’LL DO ITAttention to Detail - Ensures information is complete and accurate; follows up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled.Communicates Effectively - Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey clear understanding, taking into account the unique needs of different audiences (internally and externally).Manages Complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.Problem Solving - Defining a problem, determining the cause, identifying, prioritizing and selecting alternatives for a solution, and implementing a solution.Situational Adaptability - Demonstrates the flexibility to adapt to changing environments.  Adjusts approach to adapt to shifting demands.  Shows an openness to new ideas and handles uncertainty well.  Willing to assume new responsibilities when necessary.Maintain high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with res...
