Tessera is seeking a knowledgeable and efficient HVAC Mechanic. The HVAC Mechanic is responsible for installation, diagnosis, service, and repair of environmental-control heating and air-conditioning units in a variety of buildings and building types. The HVAC Mechanic applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as arranging and cleaning tools, replacing simple components, changing filters, wraps pipes in insulation and secures them in place with cement or wire bands, fuses, and may adjust some controls using portable equipment and hand tools. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from a supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems across residential, commercial, and laboratory environments. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot system malfunctions using wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints. Fabricate and install ductwork, piping, and chassis components using metalworking and welding tools.
