Job Overview: The Meter Reader will accurately read and record commercial electrical, water, and gas meters for billing purposes using a smart phone (Android or iPhone). The meter locations are in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. Schedule will be 30-40 hours for one week, monthly. Starting pay $25.00 per hour. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform meter reads on commercial electrical, water, and gas Will also perform re-reads when necessary  Clear photos of meters must be taken Readers should notate and/or inform management of any issues or changes that occur Adhere to all safety policies and procedures such as wearing Personal Protective Equipment and reporting all safety concerns  Performs other related duties as assigned by management   Qualifications: Minimum High School Diploma, GED or technical background preferred  Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: Valid Driver’s License, with a clean driving record, the ability to pass a pre-employment background check.  Personal vehicle will be used for travel to different sites. Mileage reimbursement will be provided at the standard IRS rate (72.5 cents per mile as of January 1, 2026). Employees in this role are required to provide and use a personal cell phone for work-related duties. A portion of cell phone expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Genea’s cell phone reimbursement policy.
