MK2 Senior Project Engineer

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.As a Senior Project Engineer, you will report to the MK2 Program Operations Director and work closely with the vehicle manager for a specific MK2 deliverable. You will focus on managing schedule adherence and budget performance, acting as a key coordinator between engineering, production, and program stakeholders. You will support vehicle configuration management, facilitate change decisions, and maintain the processes, metrics, and reporting rhythms that enable the vehicle manager to successfully deliver the product.This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and attention towards safe and reliable space flight. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and attention towards safe and reliable spaceflight.Key Responsibilities:Schedule & Budget Management:Manage and track schedule adherence and budget performance for the assigned MK2 deliverableMonitor resource allocation and program costs to support on-time, on-budget deliveryIdentify schedule risks and work with the vehicle manager and cross-functional teams to develop mitigation strategiesSupport the vehicle manager in maintaining program timelines and financial targetsVehicle & Change Coordination:Track and facilitate MK2 vehicle change tickets, supporting decisions on change content and effectivityCoordinate vehicle configuration management activities with engineering and production teamsSupport the vehicle manager in assessing the impact of changes on schedule, cost, and technical performanceFacilitate change implementation across engineering, production, and program managementProgram Reporting & Metrics:Develop and maintain program metrics and dashboards to track schedule, budget, and technical performanceReport program status and critical path items to the vehicle manager, program leadership, and executivesWork with MK2 Lunar Lander Data Analytics to establish and maintain reporting metrics for process insightPr...
