JOB DESCRIPTION
Candidate will be providing Oracle database administration support in a production environment.
- Eight (8+) years of experience administering to, and engineering solutions with MySQL and Oracle’s database (10 – 12). Extensive experience with database design and modeling; as well as, the collection and interpretation of customer requirements relevant to database migration, troubleshooting, performance observation and tuning.
- Installing and configuring new MySQL servers (5.x and 8.x)
- Upgrading MySQL databases, both major and minor revisions
- Administering MySQL account access, backups and table spaces
- Migrating MySQL databases
- Monitoring MySQL server performance
- Significant experience with the production and deployment of RAC, RMAN backup & recovery desired
- Experience with Streams / GoldenGate, DB security, DB Guard and / or DB Vault, Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, label security, and data migration desired
- Occasional after hours call-in required on an as needed basis.
- Must be an independent worker with strong communications skills.
