  Position:                               Managing Director Reports To:                          Board of Directors Employment Status:      Full-Time, Non-Exempt Office Location:                New York, New York     Position Summary This position will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s administration, programs, strategic initiatives, financial management, fundraising, marketing, technology integration, and community engagement. This position reports directly to and works closely with the President while also collaborating with the Board Chair and Board of Directors. This is a New York–based position with an immediate start date. The Managing Director will lead the organization in advancing its mission, strengthening organizational sustainability, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture. Key Responsibilities Organizational Leadership & Strategy Lead and manage the organization in alignment with its mission, vision, and strategic priorities. Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement long-term strategic plans and organizational goals. Ensure effective execution of programs and initiatives that advance the organization’s impact. Serve as a visible ambassador and spokesperson for the organization within the community and with external partners. Board Relations & Governance Work closely with the Board of Directors to support effective governance and informed decision-making. Provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations regarding organizational performance, finances, and strategic opportunities. Support Board and committee meetings, including agenda development and implementation of Board directives. Financial Management & Fundraising Oversee the financial health and sustainability of the organization. Develop and manage the annual operating budget and provide regular financial reporting to the Board. Ensure sound fiscal management practices, compliance, and efficient use of organizational resources. Lead fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant development, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships. Identify and develop new revenue opportunities to support organizational growth and impact. Operations & Team Leadership Oversee daily operations, administration, and organizational systems. Recruit, supervise, develop, and retain a high-performing and mission-driven staff. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable organization. Establish and maintain organizational policies, procedures, and operational best practices. Review and approve contracts, agreements, and other organizational commitments.
