Nurse Practitioner - Electrophysiology (EP) Program
Dually reporting to the Collaborating Physician and the Administrative Director, the licensed and credentialed Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up under the direction of one or more physicians in the clinic or inpatient setting. The NP performs age and specialty appropriate physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines. As an expert professional, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative, acute care through discharge. This newly created position will support EP clinic operations, device management, patient follow-up care, and procedural services as we continue to expand electrophysiology services and increase patient access. The NP will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care. Essential ResponsibilitiesClinical Practice• Provide direct patient care, counseling, and education in accordance with established collaborative practice protocols.• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and health histories.• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic testing.• Develop and implement treatment plans and appropriate follow-up care.• Document patient encounters and clinical findings in the electronic medical record.• Collaborate with electrophysiologists and multidisciplinary care teams regarding patient management.• Provide patient education focused on disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment adherence.• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans as necessary.• Participate in consultations and specialty referrals as indicated.• Assist with EP clinic operations, pacemaker and device management, and follow-up care.
