JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSPenn State Abington’s Division of Science, Engineering, and Technology is accepting applications for a part-time Information Technology Instructor for the 2026 to 2027 Academic Year. We are looking for dedicated educators who are passionate about preparing students for success in the rapidly evolving field of information technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Information Technology courses, covering topics such as:Programming principles and languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C#)Computer networking, cybersecurity, and information assuranceDatabase design, management, and SQLSystems analysis, design, and IT project managementOperating systems, cloud computing, virtualization, and emerging technologiesWeb development, scripting, and application developmentInformation systems, technology infrastructure, and enterprise computingArtificial intelligence, machine learning fundamentals, and AI applicationsCourses may be delivered in various formats, including in-person, hybrid, or online. Instructors are expected to foster an engaging and inclusive learning environment, incorporate industry-relevant content, and support student success through mentorship and guidance.Requirements and QualificationsApplicants must meet one of the following criteria:A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in the information technology field. This experience must include practical, hands-on involvement in areas such as systems administration, software development, network management, database management, cybersecurity, IT project management, or other relevant domains.
