Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.Incumbents receive general supervision from and administrative superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in an office where employees are not exposed to unusual or hazardous working conditions. Work requires minimal physical exertion but may involve sitting for periods of time.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSOn or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:Requirements - Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate and two years of experience in office work.ANDLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATES:Not Applicable.KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledge of basic English grammar, spelling and punctuation.Knowledge of office management practices and procedures.Knowledge of permit structures and requirements.Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with inspectors, public, and officials.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to type or keyboard clean copy at a specific rate of speed and accuracy.Ability to understand and follow simple written or oral instructions.Ability to deal courteously with employees at all levels of government, and to work effectively with varying temperaments, both in person and by telephone.Background Check NOTE: Candidates who are under final consideration for appointment will be required to authorize the release of criminal conviction information and...
