Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding. POSITION SPECIFICSThe Borland Lab in the Department of Biobehavioral Health at The Pennsylvania State University (http://bbh.hhd.psu.edu/) is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar. The research involves: investigating the neural mechanisms regulating reward for social interactions in a laboratory rodent model.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Performing research experiments (e.g. social behavior testing with adult Syrian hamsters, brain tissue collection, histology, immunohistochemistry, RNAscope, Western blots, stereotaxic surgery, AAV delivery, fiber photometry and optogenetics).Laboratory management, including IACUC, IBC and DEA record keeping/inspections.Statistical analysisPrimary drafting of peer-reviewed manuscriptsPresentation at national and international conferencesMentorship of undergraduate and doctoral studentsNecessary Qualifications:A Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a related field.Due to data access restrictions, this position is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and foreign nationals, but all applicants must have resided in the U.S. for three of the past five years (36 of the past 60 months).
