AVEVA is creating software trusted by over 90% of leading industrial companies.Job Title: Principal Software EngineerLocation: Cambridge, United Kingdom – Hybrid Employment Type: Full Time The Job As part of the E3D development group, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing applications that support both desktop and cloud solutions. You will work in scrum teams aligned to our customers’ engineering disciplines, contributing to consistent delivery and modernisation of our product’s extensive feature set. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and implement functional features as per Product Owner requests.Analyse, investigate and debug issues found both internally (by the team) and externally (by customers).Drive quality throughout our product by taking the initiative on automated testing, architectural refactoring, and communal best practices.Demonstrate sound decision making on individual and team workloads to ensure it is delivered in a timely manner. Essential RequirementsExperience developing professional software applications using C++ and/or C#.Awareness of industrial engineering and/or factory plant design.Comfortable with source control systems (GIT) and automated build pipelines (Azure DevOps).Practices Agile and Scrum methodologies.Desired Skills & CompetenciesExperience working with Fortran and/or PML.Efficient/Organised: The pace at AVEVA can be exciting and fast, so whilst you will need excellent time management and effective prioritisation, we will do all we can to support a balanced portfolio of work, and your wellbeing.Quality Software: You are passionate about delivering software that is reliable, performant and scales well.
