We are seeking a Process Engineer for First Quality Tissue located in Lock Haven, PA.
Job Function
The Process Engineer in Converting is responsible for projects and daily work centered around correcting safety issues, supporting operations, downtime reduction, waste reduction, operator training, new product trials and setup, raw material trials, and process centerlining with the goal of improving department efficiencies and lowering operating costs while ensuring compliance with quality systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for improving efficiencies of all equipment in converting process.
- Works in conjunction with Quality department to ensure finished product satisfies all finished product quality standards.
- Develops and implements plans and programs to reduce downtime and waste and improve converting line efficiencies.
- Promotes growth of converting operations personnel to improve understanding of process.
- Analyzes data to identify trends and troubleshoot process problems.
- Works with manufacturing to develop raw material standards for parent rolls.
- Develops and leads comprehensive teams for continuous improvement projects.
- Interacts with representatives from Purchasing, Maintenance, Planning, Quality, Safety, Project Engineering, and Production personnel.
- Proposes, installs, and commissions new equipment.
- Completes setup information and lead the launch of new products.
- Observes all safety rules and uses proper PPE at all times.
- Performs other duties as necessary and when directed to do so.
Experience/Education Required
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
